Analyst: No iPad 12.9-inch "iPad Pro" Until 2015, this Year Just Updated iPad Air


New report from KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple may be preparing to introduce only an upgraded iPad Air in 2014 and will likely delay the release of the large sceen 12.9-inch ''iPad Pro'' and newer iPad mini until next year.

Rumor: Foxconn testing production of larger-screened iPad for 2014 release


The tablet would sport a display diagonal of either 11.4 or 12.9 inches and is in an advanced stage of testing, according to Chinese tablet news site PadNews. The site says Apple could be targeting a March 2014 unveiling.

iPad 6 with 30-40% Higher Pixel Density Expected in 2014


Countering earlier reports about the possibility of Apple launching a larger, 12.9-inch iPad next year, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states in a new research note that the company will instead release a new sixth-generation 9.7-inch iPad with 30-40% higher pixel density than seen in both the current and upcoming full-sized iPad.

Back in May, Korean site ETNews.com reported that Apple was looking at the possibility of launching a 12.9-inch iPad in early 2014 as a larger sibling to the original 9.7-inch iPad and the 7.9-inch iPad mini.
